Janet K. Jansson

Speaker bio:
Janet Jansson is a Chief Scientist and a Laboratory Fellow at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Richland, Washington, USA. She established a science career in Sweden from 1988 - 2007, was at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the USA from 2007-2014 and moved to PNNL in 2014. Jansson is Past President of the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) and a Fellow of the Washington State Academy of Science and the American Academy of Microbiology and she serves on numerous national and international advisory panels. She is a highly cited researchers with more than 200 publications.

Ken-ichi Yoshida

Affiliation:
Kobe University, Japan

Speaker bio: 
Ken-ichi Yoshida obtained a PhD at Kyoto University in 1993, and has held positions at Fukuyama University (until 2004), INRA France (1996-97), and Kobe University (2004-present). He has specialized in the structural and functional genomics of bacteria since the very beginning of his career to date. He once served as a Program Officer in MEXT (2005-07). He was the executive director of Kobe University Brussels European Centre (2014-19). Currently, he is a Professor of Applied Microbiology (2009-present), in parallel acting as FEMS Ambassador (2019-present) and the Executive Director, Centre for EU Academic Collaboration of Kobe University (2019-present).
